Maybelline is one of those drugstore brands that works for me, even then when I wasn't as passionate with makeup. My sister and I love their liquid concealer! That product just hides our eye bags like they're never there. I also love their mascaras, most especially their Falsies mascara. Their lipsticks, specifically the watershine diamonds were my staples back when I was in college. They keep my lips moisturized with a good punch of color. So trying their Color Sensational Lasting Lipsticks, the quality didn't surprise me at all.

I've been reading lots of Color Sensational Lasting Lipsticks reviews online, and I have to say they're pretty good. So when I learned their coming out with a limited edition Color Sensational Lasting Lipstick in Jewels, I just knew I had to get them. I believe they have 4 or 5 shades in the said collection.

I have 2 of them, and this is the first.

Amethyst Blaze is a deep purple shade with a sheen. Its consistency reminds of MAC's cremesheen.

It's a little sheer, but buildable so you can achieve the opacity that you want. 

I love how this color doesn't wash me out. I think this is a darker but more wearable and friendly version of the famous MAC Violetta. It has a decent hours of wear and it won't dry out your lips.

It's also really affordable and locally available.

CONS: Because it's not matte, I would suggest a good lip primer as base so this will last much longer

VERDICT:

 I will repurchase when I don't find something better.
