OOTD: It's A for Ayzee

As I've said in my Great Northern Sale 2014 post, I will be posting OOTDs that will feature the items I got during the sale. So for my first post, I wore one of the Uniqlo tops I bought.

I especially loved this shirt because it's loose and easy to wear with almost anything, and of course because of the letter A print. ;)

I paired it with this school girl-inspired skirt and low-cut black boots to keep it comfortable and edgy at the same time. You guys know I'm not a big fan of heels, right?

I also wanted to point out that a print-on-print ensemble doesn't necessarily mean "busy" or "overwhelming". You just have to make sure that the prints aren't competing with each other; one should be bolder or busier than the other. It also wouldn't hurt if they have similar color(s).

Now who says plus size girls can't rock cute ready-to-wear edgy pieces, hmm?

Great Northern Sale 2014 - Fashion Finds and Filling Food

It's been a while since I posted about fashion, and I couldn't be more excited that this post is about my
Great Northern Sale experience at SM City North EDSA.

What do I love about going the Great Northern Sale? In case you don't frequent SM City North EDSA (what?! Why?!), it's a mecca for fashionistas; those who are in a reasonable budget up to the ones who can go all out shop 'til their heart's content. They're currently housing some of the newest and trendiest brands that Filipinos, including myself, are going gaga about.

(photo from SM North EDSA's Instagram)

For this year's GNS, I got to go around the mall on a rainy Saturday with Carizza, Rhea and Arnie. When we stopped by Forever 21, we scattered and scouted for stuff that will catch our fancy. I believe I was the one who took so long to decide what to buy that I had to ask the lovely cashier to reserve the items for me for the rest of the day (that's why I don't have anything with me in the photo).

I went back before heading home and bought 3 skirts. They have this promo that if you buy regular-priced items and your total reached at least 2500, you'll get a 500 discount. So instead of paying Php2545, I only paid for 2045. Sweet deal, right?

Uniqlo, being it's only located across Forever 21, was also a stopover. Honestly, I wasn't really a fan.
I think the price is quite steep. But because it's the Great Northern Sale, most of their items are on sale. I also love their collab shirts with Pharell and other music icons. Too bad they no longer have the design I want. :(

This is the design that I want! :(

I bought 2 awesome tops. Their original price was 790 each, but I got them for 490 each. I love these tops because they can really go a long way with my current wardrobe.

As a beauty blogger, I can get lost in Watson's for hours. My favorite brand is Maybelline, but I've been eyeing on L'Oreal as well. The latter has a new mascara and they've expanded their True Match shades, so that's definitely on my must-try list.

Levi's is such a classic brand, not only because it has been around for a very long time, but also because their jeans never goes out of style. It also boasts of top quality, insuring you'll be wearing them until it doesn't fit you anymore (which only means you should get a new pair. Haha!).

And what's the perfect way to cap off a fun day of shopping? A REALLY GOOD CHEESY PIZZA. Hooray for Brooklyn Pizza! And check out their wall! <3

Shopping with my fellow fashionistas during the Great Northen Sale at SM City North EDSA really inspired me to create more OOTD and fashion-related posts. Surprisingly, my favorite stop would be Uniqlo. The discounts they offered were pretty good (almost Php300 off!). I really love their shirts especially the ones by Pharell. I love how it promotes individuality and embracing your own uniqueness. SAME is LAME; I couldn't agree more. ;)

Please visit my blog regularly for the OOTD posts featuring the items I got from the Great Northern Sale!

Shoeselfie | Shoes Of The Day: Primadonna Mary Janes

A new #shoeselfie post, finally!

I always gravitate towards chunky, vintage and preppy shoes. It's probably the comfort and style, or maybe because my hefty figure can pull it off. I just love shoes like this pair. They remind me of being in a Catholic school uniform again, but a little more funky and unorthodox. Oxford shoes will always have a spot in my heart. :)

FOUR EYES EYEWEAR - The Visually Challenged Deserve Better

I'm part of the generation who grew up with the connotation that eyeglasses are dorky and should be left to the nerds. I remember some of my classmates getting picked on because they need to wear glasses, so kids like me who just need to correct a minor vision issue either never wore one or only wore one at home.

Back to the present, eyeglasses have evolved and is no longer just a necessity, but became a fashion and style statement. It's now a cool thing to wear glasses! A lot of brands took notice, and came out with fashionable pieces that'll cater to the style savvy. The downside? It also got more expensive to get one.

Then one company thought, the visually challenged deserve better. :)

Four Eyes PH is the first online optical store for prescription eyewear in Asia. They provide designer-quality frames and lenses at a fraction of the retail price. They offer prescription, non-prescription, computer glasses and reading glasses. All their eyeglasses costs Php1495, and they offer FREE shipping.

The perks of choosing what frame best suits me is really easy on Four Eyes' website. They have a VIRTUAL TRY-ON feature wherein you can upload your photo and "try on" glasses and see how they will look when you're wearing them. Pretty cool, right? It's like playing dress up with your paperdolls or Barbie dolls, only you're using your face. ;)

Don't have a webcam / photo available? No worries. They have this really helpful and efficient filtering system wherein you'll indicate your preferred style, shape, material, color and size of eyeglasses. I got to choose my own pair using this system because the Virtual Try-On wasn't available then. It was pretty simple for me. I wanted a black large plastic frames that'll suit my round face. The system gave me several options, and I chose Street Beat. They have styles for men, women, and unisex (just like mine).

If you're hesitant about the filtering system and the Virtual Try-On, then the Home Try-On Program is for you.

The Home Try-On Program (only available in the Philippines) let's you choose 3 of your favorite pairs and will let you test them out for 5 days to give you enough time to see which makes you feel and look best. In this program, you will only need to pay for 1 pair to any of their modes of payment (credit card, bank deposit, GCash or Smart Money). Once you've decided which pair you'll get, you will send them all back to Four Eyes (shipping is to be shouldered by Four Eyes) and they'll send you your chosen eyeglasses in 5 days.

Now forgive my narcissistic and vain selfies, but I just love my Four Eyes "Street Beat" glasses so much that these shots are called for. ;)

Four Eyes "Street Beat" Eyeglasses

I chose Street Beat because it suits my face shape, it's light and fits me like a glove. But most of all, because it's a classic style in a timeless color. I was supposed to get the red pair (see first photo) but the OC in me realized I can wear any lip color with black frames, while the red one will limit my choices of lip color (Silly I know, but I'm that OC with colors. Sorreh!).

I highly recommend you to get your pair (or pairs, if you know what I mean. Lol) from Four Eyes. They don't just have fabulous and high-quality eyewear, but they're also a company with a big heart.

They have this project called A Pair For A Pair. For every pair you buy from them, they will donate a pair to someone who needs it but can't afford one. So you're not just buying a pair for yourself, you're also helping out someone else! Now isn't that more than enough reason to get (or collect. Hihihi) Four Eyes eyewear?! :)

More good news! My awesome and fabulous readers also get a Php300 discount! Just enter coupon code CHILIPINA upon check out to avail!

SM Men's Fashion Show - Just Delivered Jeans turns 4

Just in time for the rainy season, Just Delivered Jeans celebrated their 4th anniversary by holding a fashion show with their hot endorsers and other hunk models.

Last August 15, SM Men's Fashion hosted Just Delivered Jeans Fashion Show (#IWANTJUSTDELIVEREDJEANS) to showcase what's hot and what's coming soon from the said brand. Rugged, sporty, casual to just sexy; Just Delivered Jeans has it all.

I had my fair share of SM Fashion Shows, but so far this is the craziest one because, well, this is a MEN'S FASHION SHOW. Hahaha! It felt like a Cosmo Bash but they had more clothes on. Hahaha! It was a night of mancandies and beefcakes! Everyone was screaming and squealing! I really appreciate how the models were very game, too! I'm sorry, my (blurred, sorry!) photos don't justify how awesome this fashion show was. If you're a guy and was just dragged by your girlfriend / friend, you probably didn't enjoy it as much as WE did. But come on, I'm sure you got a few styling tips that you can use, right? ;)

My personal favorite is the smart casual jeans: a little slimmer but not as tight as skinny jeans, dark wash. I think that's the number 1 staple jeans for all guys. You can dress it up or down, and it won't go out of style.

My least favorite would be the colored jeans. Maybe it's my age (I'm 26. Lol), but I think the colored jeans should be donned by the younger guys. Think One Direction type of kiddos.

Of course, how can I not mention the hot freakin' abs that I saw that evening? I was squealing like the fangirl that I am!

Everyone got their chance to meet and do a photo-op with these gorgeous hunks. But the line was sooooo long I had to pass up because of the scary weather.

I'm so lucky I got a rose from HIDEO!!! Hahaha!

You can check out Just Delivered Jeans at SM Men's Fashion at SM Stores nationwide.
