SM City Lucena: Mario D' Boro Meet & Greet Chacha Cañete and Fabio Ide

Hi everyone! I am officially back to blogging! Wohooo! I'm so happy I can now give more time to my blog like I used to.

Anyway, have you been to Lucena City, Quezon? May is a special month for that city because this is the time that they celebrate "Pasayahan sa Lucena"

In lieu with this festivity, SM City Lucena prepared a series of star-studded events especially for the people of Lucena: "Pasayahan Sa SM Lucena".

Mario D' Boro, a well-known shoe brand that you can see in all SM Stores, held a Meet And Greet in SM City Lucena's SM Store with their endorsers: Chacha Cañete and Fabio Ide.

I'm quite sure you know who Chacha is (Bulilit, bulilit, ang liit liit!). This multi-talented little girl has a lot under her belt an have gone a long way from her TV commercial, which include being the face of Mario D' Boro shoes for kids. I think she exemplifies the brand perfectly. She's young, stylish, hil and energetic. I know this young star can sing, but I didn't know she's really good at it! She performed "Girl On Fire" by Alicia Keys and the famous Annie song, "Tomorrow". Catch more of her on ABS-CBN

Fabio Ide is a Brapanese model who's now also into acting. Now he's the new face of Mario D' Boro for men. I can understand why the brand chose him. Yes he'a handsome, really sweet and nice to his fans and everyone else; those are given already. But what stands out about him is his effort to reach out and relate to the Filipinos. Though He's still struggling with his Tagalog, when you hear him do it, you can tell he's trying his best which is enough and appreciated (at least for me). He's young, athletic, certified eye candy, and with an eye for stylish shoes.

Mario D' Boro just launched their new collections for the new school year. The brand caters to kids, teens and adults. You can find their new collections in all SM Stores nationwide. :)

Maria's Collection - Armparty of Handmade Chicness & More

Why do we love accessories?

It's the easiest (and usually the cheapest) way to update one's wardrobe. Since we have to be practical without sacrificing style, changing accessories to fit the current season is the way to go.

I've always been a fan of handmade accessories. It's nice to know that someone put a lot of effort into creating the masterpiece that I'm wearing; just like Maria's Collection.

Maria's Collection offers handmade accessories, from bracelets to necklaces, mostly inspired by bohemian chicness. Their pieces feels organic yet glamorous. Girly, yet fierce. It's the small, surprising and should I say appropriate dozes of "oomph" that makes their pieces very up to date. Personally, I feel like their pieces were made by a slightly older and more stylish sister. :)

My favorites are the last 2 sets. I love how the skulls, wing and "Be Happy" charm give that edge to the bracelets. I aslo love the mix of neons and classic wood. Have you checked the locks of her necklaces? They're so pretty! <3 <3 <3

Check out Maria's Collection now! :)

Beauty Haul: Neutrogena Goodies

Beauty haul time!!

I've been a little more conscious with my skin nowadays. Especially with my schedule, stressful lifestyle and less-than-holy diet, the consequences of these factors are showing on my skin. I'm in my mid-20s and I'm not getting any younger, soooo a decent skin care system won't hurt, right? :)

I've been meaning to try Neutrogena products. I've been hearing lots of raves about them, so I'm really eager to try them out. I was hoping they'd have their makeup products here too, but for now I can only settle for their BB cream.

Everything (aside from the BB cream) targets big pores and blackheads/whiteheads. Yep, I have them. No thanks to my combination/oily skin. Anyway, I've been using them just for a week, and so far I'm loving them. I will post a review maybe after a month or so of using these babies.

I'm still in search for that HG BB cream. This one is a promising BB cream. Shade is not as off, consistency and coverage is better than the other BB creams that I've tried. Let's see how it'll perform in a month. :)

Have you tried any of these products? Did they work for you? Let me know! ;)

Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek in Peach PK301 Peach - Review, Photos, Swatches

Whenever I go to the Beauty Department of The SM Store or to Watson's, I cannot not check out the counter of Majolica Majorca. Their beautiful display and packaging always entice me; and because of previous success with their products, I always look forward to trying their other stuff.

Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek in PK301 Peach is a warm pinky coral shade. It's in a semi-matte finish, with a little sheen (super fine shimmer that's almost unnoticeable) to it. I find this shade the most natural-looking for my skin tone. I initially thought of getting the pinky-red one, but as the SA suggested, I went with this one instead. I love the idea of using a puff in applying it. Very portable, easy to use, and really cute. It has decent hours of wear, didn't cause any irritation or oiliness. My only problem with it is its quite expensive. I purchased it during this sale.

in PK301 Peach

PROS: shade will flatter most skin tones, semi-matte finish with super fine (unnoticeable) shimmer, didn't cause any irritation, portable, decent hours of wear, locally available, comes with an applicator (puff)

CONS: doesn't come with a mirror, pricey

VERDICT:

I will repurchase when I don't find something better.

MAC Sounds Like Noise Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

I love how MAC chooses who they'll collaborate with. The faces they choose aren't your typical pretty face. Everyone has their quirk, fabulous rebelliousness that makes them the odd ball, standing for their own definition of beauty.

Haley Williams, vocalist of Paramore, is just like that. She has one of the most beautiful faces I've seen, but she has a lot more to offer than that; her voice, her talent, her passion for music, her adventurous taste in style and makeup, I think those caught MAC's attention.

The shade they came up with is Sounds Like Noise.

MAC Sounds Like Noise ss a light and bright orange color in a comfortable matte finish. Definitely lighter than Morange or Neon Orange. It has a warm undertone, though it could look a little neon. It washed me out a little, so I really can't wear it without anything else on my face. Just like the traditional MAC matte formula, its pretty long wearing and opaque.

MAC Sounds Like Noise

PROS: comfortable matte formula, opaque, long wearing, a refreshingly cleaner (purer) shade of orange.

CONS: online exclusive, limited edition, expensive

VERDICT:

  I will definitely repurchase!

MAC Heroine Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Heroine Lipstick is a bright violet shade with hints of red / magenta. This lipstick is my most favorite from the MAC Fashion Sets 2013. Just like Silly, Embrace Me and Ablaze, this is opaque, in a comfortable matte finish and long wearing.

Originally, this was part of MAC Reel Sexy. I wasn't able to grab one that time so when I heard it'll be repromoted, I knew I had to get one. This is in a matte finish, and just like Strong Woman, I fell in love on the first swipe. It's definitely a color that needs an attitude and fierceness to be worn the right way.

Comparison Swatches :)

Top w/ flash, Bottom w/o flash

Left to Right:

Heroine, Strong Woman, Smoked Purple, Violetta

PRO: fierce and fabulous color, good color payoff, comfortable matte finish, long wearing

CONS: not the easiest color to wear, pricey, limited edition

VERDICT:

  I will definitely repurchase!

Where To Buy:

MAC Ablaze Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Ablaze Lipstick is a slightly dark coral-orange (would almost pass as a red, if it weren't for the coral) shade with warm undertones. Its a bright shade, yet its toned down enough to not be considered as neon. Its a very wearable shade and would flatter a lot of skin tones. Its in my favorite comfortable matte finish and quite long wearing.

This was the last shade that I bought from this collection. I was skeptical to get it because I'm through with my "coral and orange phase", but then again I had to get it because it's MAC.
