There's a wide array of restaurants that you can choose from. Doesn't matter if your palette is for Asian or Western cuisine, you will find the resto for you.

Feeling lucky?
The casino in Resorts World Manila is one of the most sophisticated casinos in Manila. Both locals and foreigners enjoy playing here, mostly because of the ambience and awesome customwr service.

You will find 3 fabulous hotels in Resorts World Manila: Maxims Hotel, Marriot Hotel Manila and Hotel Remington. I particularly love Marriot Hotel's buffet, especially their desserts!

So what sets Resorts World Manila apart from other places that also offer what I stated above?

They hold the best events and performances!
I missed the "Drum Tao" performance a few months back, but I definitely won't miss
the play "The King and I".

So you see, these are the reasons why I think Resorts World Manila is awesome.
They have some of the best hotels and casinos in the metro, and I'm sure
you won't run out of things to do there. :)

The Gateway Cineplex 10 - Perfect 10 For Movie Buffs

Ever since Gateway Mall was opened, my cousins and I always watch our favorite movies in their Cineplex. The location is conveniently located in Araneta Center. The mall itself is fabulous in its own right, but the Gateway Cineplex 10? It's beyond words when it comes to its stylish design and up-to-date technology that movie lovers would definitely appreciate and enjoy.

The Gateway Cineplex 10, situated at Level 4 of Gateway Mall, is truly a state-of-the-art cinema complex with the latest amenities to ensure maximum convenience, comfort and viewing pleasure.

The auditorium design and execution of the Cineplex have been personally supervised by international cinema consultants, Ian Riches and James Anthony who have drawn on their global experience to incorporate the top-of-the-line features of Cineplex 10.

The 2,300 total seat complex consists of 10 screens ranging in size from the intimate luxury of the exclusive Platinum Cinema with 40 deluxe reclining La-Z-Boy chairs, to the massive 524 seat impact theatre with a curved screen more than 60 feet wide, making it Manila’s largest. Every auditorium has provisions for PWD spaces.

The spacious central lobby is conveniently situated above the mall’s Food Express and adjacent to several fine-dining restaurants and provides a meeting point with the various coffee lounges for those who want a little chit-chat before seeing a film. A special feature of the vast lobby is the exclusive “Times Square” mural, created by theatrical designer Fritz Ynfante and his team and sets the proper mood for the great entertainment offered by the Cineplex.

The central box office, with up to six selling stations, features the Vista computerized ticketing system, a first in the Philippines. The Vista system provides fast ticket service, with specific seats being allocated at all busy performances, all with the touch of a screen, or a click of a button.

A large SNAXX counter offers the usual cinema favorites of soda, popcorn, hotdogs and nachos as well as candy, ice cream and other temptations. There’s also a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stand for those craving for a quick caffeine fix.

The Gateway Cineplex 10 is the first cinema in Manila to use the Boral cinema acoustical wall system to ensure total sound realism. Built-in JBL surround speakers driven by powerful QSC amplifiers are incorporated with the very latest Dolby Digital EX theatrical sound system so you can almost feel the emotion, drama and suspense of every anticipated film title.
US-brand Simplex projectors provide crisp and clear pictures to make moviegoers feel like they’re right in the middle of every epic moment onscreen.

Stadium-style stepped seating ensures an unobstructed view of the floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall screens from every seat. The comfort designed chairs and armrest are all standard amenities. Ample leg room guarantees room to stretch and allow other patrons to pass with the least inconvenience.

Another unique feature is the one-of-a-kind Platinum Cinema, with a private access and lounge area. With forty La-Z-Boy reclining leather chairs, this is every movie buff’s dream come true. Included in the admission fee is bottomless drink and popcorn, and for those who want to live a little, an exclusive menu offers a selection of beers and wines plus delicious snacks which can be enjoyed in the exclusive lounge or in the comfort of the theatre itself. The Platinum Cinema is also available for private screenings and other presentations.

Pulse Saturdays in Urban Athletics: We Got D.I.B.S.

ILL BEATS AND COOL MUSIC. Thyro and Yumi rocked the house down with their smooth vibe, wowing the crowds at the recent Pulse Saturdays event in Urban Athletics.

NOT JUST YOUR TYPICAL SHOE HAVEN. From “the” place for urban fashion, Urban Athletics transforms into a party venue flocked by the who’s who of hip hop music.

VURS CLOTHING LAUNCH. Along with the music came the launch of new clothing collection VURS exclusively available only at Urban Athletics.

Old-school hip-hop meets new school

Those looking for a poppin’ night certainly got their fill at the Pulse Saturdays: We Got D.I.B.S. event. On scene at the Urban Athletics Store in Greenbelt 3, Makati, the party certainly lived it up as everyone got a taste of D.I.B.S., Dropping Ill Beats/Brands Simultaneously.

Already serving up its second edition, Pulse Saturdays: We Got D.I.B.S. brought together the dynamics of style and sound in an all -out craze as it launched brand-spankin’ new hits in both music and fashion. Event is powered by Team Strato and backed by its media partners Urban Myx, Magic 89.9, JACK TV, and Clavel magazine with drink sponsors Bigshot Energy Drink, Tanduay Ice, Manila Beer and Coors Light.

The crowd partied with the beat and overflowing beer, what made the event extra dope was the album launch of one Philippine’s purebred Hip Hop artist, MC Dash Calzado.

Early ‘90s as an artist and producer, MC Dash aka Mighty Joe Young finally busted his first solo album entitled Return of the Phunky Juan. MC Dash brought the house down with sick rhymes and droppin’ beats with a twist of pure Pinoy brown flavah.

Along with the music came the launch of new clothing collection VURS exclusively available only at Urban Athletics. Founded by partners Eric Villarama and Lamont Waters, Vital Urban Revolutionary Standards (VURS) is a socially conscious and inspirational clothing enterprise. Pieces of clothing at VURS are loaded with statements that inspire, whether poetic, lyrical, spiritual, biblical or simple quotes.

VURS also supports the awareness, rescue and restoration initiatives against human trafficking. By donating 15 percent of each purchased VURS merchandise, the group helps fund MTV EXIT Roadshows which educates the public about the horrors of human trafficking, how to protect their families and empower them to spread the word. This way, patrons and customers become real heroes by investing on the fight against this social injustice.

Also made available during the night were new releases from the much awaited brands like SUPRA, Empire x Fanboy clothing, The One and WIP caps.
SUPRA is recognized for its groundbreaking silhouettes, unique combination of materials, and dynamic color stories.

Empire x Fanboy kept their insane love for the NBA, basketball and everything sports, flowing with their new line of ultimate fan clothing. Their new collection puts the spotlight on no less than the 2012 Kings of the basketball world with their Miami Heat Championship shirts.

The One apparel by Kenjhons: Designed to promote limitless hip-hop lifestyle and culture, unity, and to spread awareness-- that nothing is impossible if you believe.

WIP caps, known for their fab collection of lifestyle inspired high-quality fitted caps, pays homage to the Great One with their W Concords series. Inspired by His Airness’ Michael Jordan 11 Concord kicks, the line is designed with the same elegance, grace, and greatness in mind.

The night was definitely bangin’ with Tyler and Suzy of Magic 89.9 calling the shots. Self-proclaimed Rap King of Q.C., J.O.L.O. aka J-Dot brought his A-game and kept the party up. While Muriel, Kenjohns, Gene Roca with Kat Alano, and R&B artist Quest featuring killer rhymes from hoop star Kelly Williams had the crowd going with insane performances.

The crowd had a blast over free-flowing beer, beer-pong tournaments, and raffle draws with loads of prizes at stake. Everyone including celebrities like Will de Vaughn, Maxene Magalona, Gab Valenciano, Colleen Garcia, Shirley Fuentes, Jericho Rosales and Iza Calzado bumped and grind to the killer beats of DJ Buzz. PBA cagers Jimmy Alapag, Ali Peek, Rich Alvarez, and Larry Fonacier also rocked the scene.

Urban Athletics’ Pulse Saturdays definitely locked down the most happening crowd with tight music and the hippest fashion. With Urban Athletics, you certainly got D.I.B.S.!

Bigfish’s Annual White Party on June 23

(Manila, Philippines) “Purity. Unity. Seduction. Sensation.” This is the maxim of Bigfish Innovation White. Clearly, at this party, you’re in for one heck of a musical ride.

Bigfish and Freedom Music present Bigfish Innovation White 2012, the country’s biggest musical congregation of white-clothed clubbers, happening on June 23 at the World Trade Center! This year’s lineup is a who’s who of the most promising acts in electronic music today: Cosmic Gate, Myon & Shane54, Bobina, and Emma Hewitt, who are joined by Bigfish’s John Paul Lee and Chris Raeuber.

German DJ/producer duo Cosmic Gate made the global dance community snap to attention when they jumped 43 places to land on No. 19 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 for 2009. That was the same year they teamed up with the striking, silken-voiced Australian songstress Emma Hewitt for the single “Not Enough Time”, a dance music hit that earned them nominations for Best Trance Track at the 2010 International Dance Music Awards and Best Selling Trance Act at the 2010 Beatport Awards.

Hungarian duo Myon & Shane54 are another European trance tandem that’s carving a name for themselves as they gig from continent to continent. With a list of solid singles and fierce remixes to their name, even trance luminaries Armin van Buuren and Above and Beyond are fans of their work, having featured them on their respective compilations.

Also on the bill is Moscow-based trance master Bobina, whom Ferry Corsten has called “one of the most talented music producers ever to come out of Russia”. Having released the country’s first #1 electronic dance album and being the first Russian DJ to snag a spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 roundup, Bobina is hailed as a dance music god in his home country.

Joining these trance greats at the Innovation White stage are Team Bigfish’s main men John Paul Lee and Chris Raeuber.

Head to the World Trade Center on June 23 and be part of this massive trance movement! Let’s keep things pure—let’s all come in white.

Sponge Cola - OPM Pride For Beale Street Music Festival 2012

As I've said before, I am not a music connoisseur. I'm just the typical music lover who can't live without my headset plugged in my ears.

I'm a huge fan of OPM and OPM artists, especially those who can come up with good and original songs; And Sponge Cola is one of those.

I really don't get why some people diss this band and everyone else that falls in the "pogi rock" category. Seriously, what is sooo wrong with neat and well-groomed rock bands?

Sponge Cola has been around for quite some time now. I can still remember when I first heard them play live at a bar in Makati or Pasig I think, and they covered Madonna's Crazy For You, and let me tell you, as a Madonna fan, I was impressed. :)

They have produced lots of hits, several of which can be considered a theme song of a particular time in my life. Their music videos are well made too (count their MYX Music Awards trophies, yow!).

If you're a genuine music lover, I'm sure you've heard of Memphis In may International Festival. A part of this event is the Beale Street Music Festival. This year marks the 36th anniversary of the latter. Every year, artists from all genres and music fans all over the US gather to this grand music event. Do you know who's the first all-Filipino band who'll be playing in the said event? Oh yes, it's SPONGE COLA.

The boys were apparently discovered by the organizers in YouTube. They checked the band out, contacted them, and invited them. The band is set to play in May 4 and 5.

Take that, haters!

Simple, Short, and Sweet

I'm not a music connoisseur. I don't think I have enough knowledge (or exposure) to critique or evaluate a song. All I have are my ears and heart that tells me if I love the song or not.

The first time I heard this song, I caught myself humming and bobbing my head with it's simple yet catchy melody. What do I love about it? It's honest, simple, and straight to the point. Oh, and also because it's OPM.

 Pag-ibig by Yeng Constantino

I commend local artists who write and sing their own songs. Just to clarify, I don't have anything against those who do covers. I just think doing covers here in the Philippines is overused already. Gasgas na

This song is my chill-out, feel-good, kilig soundtrack of the moment.
What's yours? :)
