OOTD: It's A for Ayzee

As I've said in my Great Northern Sale 2014 post, I will be posting OOTDs that will feature the items I got during the sale. So for my first post, I wore one of the Uniqlo tops I bought.

I especially loved this shirt because it's loose and easy to wear with almost anything, and of course because of the letter A print. ;)

I paired it with this school girl-inspired skirt and low-cut black boots to keep it comfortable and edgy at the same time. You guys know I'm not a big fan of heels, right?

I also wanted to point out that a print-on-print ensemble doesn't necessarily mean "busy" or "overwhelming". You just have to make sure that the prints aren't competing with each other; one should be bolder or busier than the other. It also wouldn't hurt if they have similar color(s).

Now who says plus size girls can't rock cute ready-to-wear edgy pieces, hmm?

Outfit Of The Day: Retro Mullet

I was really hesitant about this trend: the high-lows and mullet style of dresses and skirts.
I remember ranting to a girlfriend that I don't get the point of this.
Why can't they just make it either short, or long? But now I caught myself embracing this trend.
Funny thing is, for a second there, I forgot that fashion doesn't always make sense.
Its an art; a medium of self-expression, and output of one's creativity. So how could I have judged it?

This mullet dress is not the most obvious kind. The front part is not that high unlike your usual mullet dress / skirts. It's also in gorgeous pleated chiffon, giving it a romantic feel. I also love the playful retro print. It's originally a sleeveless dress, but yeah like I would wear such in a public place (except if I'm going swimming, of course).

I donned this outfit during an event by a local beauty and spa clinic.

Outfit Of The Day: Lazy Saturday

It was a Saturday, and it was all about socializing. I've been itching for a spa day, so I went to Beauty and Butter in SM Mall Of Asia. Then I met up with my girlfran, Carol, around lunchtime and we did some shopping and ate some Hong Kong-inspired food. We hung out until 4:00pm, and then I had to go to the Kroketten event. It was quite fun because I got to spend time with my blogger friends and was able to meet new people. Anyway, it was a lazy day for me so I just wore something comfortable. :)

Outfit Of the Day: Minty Dots and Neutrals

For a change, I wore an outfit that didn't include tights or boots. I was feeling a little whimsical that day, probably because its Father's Day.

I really like this skirt that I got from SM Girls Teens' Wear. It was straight off the runways of Philippine Fashion Week. It looks a little intimidating at first, a piece not everyone would get or dare wear. But of course, that just added more charms to it for me. :)

Outfit Of The Day: My Heart Is Yours

Red and black is such a nice color combination. The warm, powerful red paired with the dark, mysterious black just oozes sexiness. Even with the simplest cuts and styles, with this power duo, you're all set.

Outfit Of The Day: Chiffon And Denim

Contrasts yet compliments; that's how I would define the combination of the very feminine chiffon, and the quite structured denim. Actually, I find contrasting duos very interesting. It just shows that diversity and variety is beautiful.

Outfit Of The Day: Boots, Fans, and a Bow

Who would wear layers of clothing (and boots to top it off) in a very sunny and humid Sunday? Me. :)

The entire family was quite disappointed with the outcome of the recent Pacquiao-Bradley fight, so we decided to go out and have a family day in MOA. (Huge mistake. There was a sea of people so we really didn't enjoy, good thing we went to S&R after).

It was our first "family day" with my niece and baby nephew. I wanted to don something I'm sure nobody would wear, so the boots is an obvious choice. everything else just fell together. So yes, this is what I came up with.

Outfit Of The Day: Color Blocking with the Stars

"There wouldn't be a sky full of stars if we were all meant to wish on the same one." - Frances Clark

I got a callback for a position that I applied for. Since it was a Friday, I thought I could wear something a little more casual but still put together. I rarely wear jeans because they're too constricting, so my usual tights+skirt is the way to go. I love the fact that I came up with a good mix of texture, color, and style.

Who said big girls can't wear bondage skirts in a loud color or a tiered white top, huh?

What I Wore:

Blue Blazer - Landmark
White tiered top with stars - Tomato
Skirt - Forever 21, P505
Tights - Forever 21, P350
Sneakers - Terranova
Watch - Timex

Outfit Of The Day: Vintage Rebel

"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

This dress was supposedly worn with the green slim belt that it came with. I really like the classic cut of this dress, it can actually look vintage with the right accessories. The part that made it it look a little more modern is the fabric: its jersey. It clings just in the right places. :)

I had a job interview that day, so I know I had to wear something "formal". But because I am eager to inject my own style (the usual corporate style bores me to death), I wore it with my studded lace-up boots, leather belt, and the classic black cardigan.

Outfit Of The Day: Boots Can Be Girly

I was feeling all girly that Saturday night. It was (supposedly) the last weekend of summer, so might as well enjoy it with one of my very few floral dresses. I'm not exactly the girly girl, but I sure enjoy being one once in a while. I was off to SM Mall Of Asia with my college buddies, and knowing we will be walking around, heels is not an option.

One of my fashion philosophies:
You can never go wrong with a pretty pair of flat boots. :)
