Outfit Of The Day: Little White Dress

A boring corporate outfit (or any outfit for that matter) depresses me.
That's probably one of the reasons why I avoid the old-school corporate world.
I was invited for a job interview by this online gaming company, and asked me to come in corporate attire.
I really couldn't bear wearing the usual blah corporate clothes, so I wore something that fits my taste and at least a little office chic.

Chilipina, Featured in SM Girls Teens Wear, AGAIN!

Spotted AGAIN in SM Girls Teens' Wear!

Made it to SM Girls Teens' Wear Facebook Page, AGAIN! Feels just as awesome as the first time. :)
This is my first mullet anything. Hahaha! I love the fact that it's the more wearable kind of mullet.
The front part of the dress is not too high. I also love the chiffon fabric.

Outfit Of The Day: Retro Mullet

I was really hesitant about this trend: the high-lows and mullet style of dresses and skirts.
I remember ranting to a girlfriend that I don't get the point of this.
Why can't they just make it either short, or long? But now I caught myself embracing this trend.
Funny thing is, for a second there, I forgot that fashion doesn't always make sense.
Its an art; a medium of self-expression, and output of one's creativity. So how could I have judged it?

This mullet dress is not the most obvious kind. The front part is not that high unlike your usual mullet dress / skirts. It's also in gorgeous pleated chiffon, giving it a romantic feel. I also love the playful retro print. It's originally a sleeveless dress, but yeah like I would wear such in a public place (except if I'm going swimming, of course).

I donned this outfit during an event by a local beauty and spa clinic.

Chilipina, Featured in SM Girls Teens Wear

Look who's featured in SM Girls Teens Wear! :)

I was beyond thrilled when I received an email that I was featured in SM Girls Teens Wear Facebook page. I'm a loyal customer of SM Ladies Fashion and SM Girls Teens Wear because their stuff are gorgeous but won't break my budget. I also love the P100 discount coupon they have for the GTW department. Click HERE for more information about that.

It really feels good when you're passion is recognized. Its not just a form of validation that you're doing something right or well, but also because its like a "nod" or "thumbs up" from the brand or company that you believe in.

More outfits to be posted soon! ;)

My Red Shoes

"Please take me home".

Just like Dorothy, I've been asking my red shoes to take me home. I've been wandering too much, thus I feel lost.

I must confess I've been quite ungrateful for some opportunities that has been presented to me. But at the end of the day, if I'm not happy, I really can't stay. If it doesn't feel right, it will never feel right.

Someday, somehow, I will get there.

Outfit Of the Day: Minty Dots and Neutrals

For a change, I wore an outfit that didn't include tights or boots. I was feeling a little whimsical that day, probably because its Father's Day.

I really like this skirt that I got from SM Girls Teens' Wear. It was straight off the runways of Philippine Fashion Week. It looks a little intimidating at first, a piece not everyone would get or dare wear. But of course, that just added more charms to it for me. :)

What I wore:

Skirt - SM Girls Teens' Wear
Cardigan - Landmark
Ribbed v-neck top - Debenhams
Tube top - Bazaar
Belt - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - People Are People
Necklace - SM Accessories
Earrings - Forever 21

Outfit Of The Day: Boots, Fans, and a Bow

Who would wear layers of clothing (and boots to top it off) in a very sunny and humid Sunday? Me. :)

The entire family was quite disappointed with the outcome of the recent Pacquiao-Bradley fight, so we decided to go out and have a family day in MOA. (Huge mistake. There was a sea of people so we really didn't enjoy, good thing we went to S&R after).

It was our first "family day" with my niece and baby nephew. I wanted to don something I'm sure nobody would wear, so the boots is an obvious choice. everything else just fell together. So yes, this is what I came up with.

Dress - SM Girls Teens' Wear, P599.75
Cardigan - SM Ladies Fashion

Outfit Of The Day: Vintage Rebel

"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

This dress was supposedly worn with the green slim belt that it came with. I really like the classic cut of this dress, it can actually look vintage with the right accessories. The part that made it it look a little more modern is the fabric: its jersey. It clings just in the right places. :)

I had a job interview that day, so I know I had to wear something "formal". But because I am eager to inject my own style (the usual corporate style bores me to death), I wore it with my studded lace-up boots, leather belt, and the classic black cardigan.

What I Wore:

Dress - SM Girls Teens' Wear, P499.75
Cardigan - Eastwood Bazaar, P150
Tights - Landmark, P189.75
Boots - Asian Vogue
Belt - from a friend

SM Dept Store Girls Teens' Wear - Coupon for P100 Off

Who would have thought a luscious plus-sized chic like myself would find items at the Girls Teens' Wear department that actually fits and flatters?

People usually compliment my style and ask where I get such nice clothes; SM Girls Teens' Wear is one of my secret shopping havens. ;)

I really don't constraint or limit myself with just "plus size" clothes. Maybe its the rebel in me, but I just don't like being boxed.

Now what do I consider when looking for items that would fit me in the regular-sized department: style, cut, and material. I usually gravitate towards empire cut dresses, stretchy (but not clingy) fabrics, and everything else that has forgiving cuts and styles.

I also prefer buying in the GTW because items more affordable than the items in the Ladies Department.

But what do I love more about shopping here especially now? DISCOUNT!

How to avail the P100 Discount?

Coupon can be found on this issue of GTW Shopzine. Ask a sales lady for a copy :)

Present this coupon to get P100 off for a P1,000 minimum single receipt purchase of items at the Girls Teens' Wear Department.

 Chilipina's Haul?

The first dress (a little more formal) is worth P549.75 while the Pink/Grey dress is P599.75. Because I purchased them in a single transaction (Total is P1150), I used the voucher and I only paid P1050. I love discounts!!! That P100 that I saved was properly used to buy Milk Tea. Hahaha!
