If there's something a nice, bold lip color needs to stay put is a good base. Since I super love red lipsticks, a red lipliner is a must. Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip in 8C is my holy grail red lip liner. It's waterproof so it's quite long wearing. It's a bit creamy so it's easy to apply and dries out matte, and boy it won't budge for hours! It's highly pigmented and can even be worn alone.

PROS: Waterproof, long wearing, great color payoff, less expensive than it's MAC counterpart (Pro Longwear)
CONS: a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. :)

NARS Carthage - Review, Photos, Swatches

If you're looking for a bright (non neon-y though) pink lipstick that's REALLY matte, NARS Carthage could be the lipstick for you. This is my first tube from NARS' Pure Matte line, and I must say that it really deserves the name. It's so matte that it could be a little drying on my lips. Carthage is an awesome color to wear, regardless of the season. It's a medium fuchsia shade, almost the same hue as Girl About Town on me. It's really long wearing and pigmented.

PROS: long wearing, matte, pigmented, packaging is sleek and easy to tote around, color is gorgeous
CONS: almost drying so I suggest a balm before applying it, quite pricey with a little less product compared to their semi-matte lipsticks (which are cheaper, btw)


VERDICT:

 I will repurchase when I don't find something better.

MAC Force Of Love is a bright coral lipstick that's just perfect for spring and summer. This is from MAC Chen Man Love and Water Collection that was launched in the Philippines last March 24. Though it's in a matte finish, it's not drying at all. It's long wearing, opaque, and pigmented. Shade is very similar in that of MAC Watch Me Simmer.

MAC Watch Me Simmer is a bright coral lipstick in warm undertone. It's in an amplified creme finish so expect opacity and great color payoff without drying your lips out. It's part of the Shop MAC, Cook MAC Collection that was just released in the Philippines last March 24.

For those who weren't able to get a hold of this awesome lipstick, don't fret 'cause it will be re-promoted in their upcoming collection, MAC Reel Sexy Collection.

Corals, corals, corals - I just can't get enough of you. :)

Seasons change, as my preferred lipstick shade does. I've been rocking lipstick shades from foxy reds, hot pinks, and vampy purples. Since summer is finally here, I'm starting to tone things down by donning fresh and dainty corals. :)

Before I left for Hong Kong, Shop Cook MAC finally arrived in the Philippines. Because I'm a certified MAC lipstick addict, I went to MAC Trinoma and joined other MAC fans as the collection was unveiled. MAC Chen Man Collection was also launched the same day, which was really awesome!

Got myself a couple of tubes to satisfy my coral craving. ;)

MAC Crosswires is a medium-bright coral with subtle gold shimmer. It's a fresh color to don and is appropriate for summer, in my opinion. It's in cremesheen finish, which is a first for me. I learned that this is one of the popular shades in HK, since ladies there prefer wearing "natural yet put together and feminine" looks. :)

MAC Such Flare! is a part of MAC Holiday Collection for 2011 which is the Glitter And Ice Collection. It's a red lipstick with blue undertone. It's in matte finish, which I prefer for red lipsticks. I also love the new and distinct packaging for the said collection. This lipstick is in white packaging instead of the usual black. Just like most products from MAC collections, this is a limited ed shade. This shade however is really easy to dupe so you chicas don't have to worry. ;)
