MAC Quick Sizzle - Review, Photos, Swatches

I am just so glad I got to order this online! I was at the launch of Shop MAC, Cook MAC Collection in TriNoma. I was 2nd in line, and it was sold out already! That fast! I'm just grateful I have great friends in the online seller community so I was able to get one. Whew!

So yes, this is MAC Quick Sizzle lipstick. It's a bright blue-based pink in matte finish. It's opaque, long wearing, and the formula (though its matte) is not drying at all. It is part of the Shop MAC, Cook MAC Collection, thus making it a limited edition shade.

PROS: Matte but not drying, gorgeous shade, long wearing, an opaque.
CONS: limited edition. :(

VERDICT:

 I will definitely repurchase!

MAC Watch Me Simmer - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Watch Me Simmer is a bright coral lipstick in warm undertone. It's in an amplified creme finish so expect opacity and great color payoff without drying your lips out. It's part of the Shop MAC, Cook MAC Collection that was just released in the Philippines last March 24.

For those who weren't able to get a hold of this awesome lipstick, don't fret 'cause it will be re-promoted in their upcoming collection, MAC Reel Sexy Collection.

MAC Lipsticks Haul: Chen Man and Shop Cook MAC

Corals, corals, corals - I just can't get enough of you. :)

Seasons change, as my preferred lipstick shade does. I've been rocking lipstick shades from foxy reds, hot pinks, and vampy purples. Since summer is finally here, I'm starting to tone things down by donning fresh and dainty corals. :)

Before I left for Hong Kong, Shop Cook MAC finally arrived in the Philippines. Because I'm a certified MAC lipstick addict, I went to MAC Trinoma and joined other MAC fans as the collection was unveiled. MAC Chen Man Collection was also launched the same day, which was really awesome!

Got myself a couple of tubes to satisfy my coral craving. ;)

Please watch out for my individual reviews on these lipsticks. ;)

MAC Full Fuchsia - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Full Fuchsia is a lipstick that really deserves it's name. It's a spot-on fuchsia with subtle hints of shimmer. It's in an amplified creme finish so expect opaque coverage. I wasn't a fan of this shade at first because it seemed like it should be under the satin finish family. It's not as creamy as my other MAC lipstick in the said finishm but I learned to love it eventually. ;)

PROS: Texture and color payoff are superb. Long wearing, right amount of creaminess, buildable color. You can wear it really opaque or sheer.
CONS: It's a bit expensive.

VERDICT

  I will definitely repurchase!

Illamasqua Lipstick in Over - Review, Photos, Swatches

Illamasqua is a high-end makeup brand that offers a wide variety of beauty essentials for your alter ego. I've been reading great reviews about their products, particularly their lipsticks. So when the chance of ordering in Sephora came my way, I just had to grab it.I ordered 2 matte lipsticks from them. Here is the first one:

Illamasqua lipstick in Over is a matte coral-orange shade. It's not the kind of orange that's too bright. It's pretty long wearing, too. It's on cool toned side of orange though. It's a girly orange lipstick that's perfect for spring and summer.

PROS: The color is fab, especially for spring and summer. It has a matte finish and long wearing. The packaging is also sleek and sophisticated.
CONS: A little too drying. The opacity needs work, especially for girls with pigmented lips. It's also expensive and not locally available in the Philippines.

VERDICT:

I will repurchase when I don't find something better.

MAC Violetta - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Violetta is a violet-purple shade in amplified creme finish. It has a subtle sheen to it. It was first released in the MAC Venomous Villains - Maleficent and was re-promoted in MAC Fall Colour Collection 2011. This is a permanent PRO shade.

PROS: The shade is beautiful and unique. I haven't really encountered a great dupe for it. It's a buildable color so you can wear it sheer or really opaque. It's long wearing and leaves a good fuschia-purple stain when it fades. This is (supposedly) locally available here in the Philippines (they just restocked it last year).
CONS: If your lips are pigmented like mine, this could come off as a bit dark for regular wear. It's also pricey.

VERDICT

I will definitely repurchase!

TIP: If you have pigmented lips like me, or you just feel like it's too dark to wear (at a certain moment), grab a pink (deeper and darker the better) gloss to lighten it up. Sometimes I wear any dark pink lipstick (under it) to do the job. :)

MAC Prince Noir - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Prince Noir is a dark burgundy shade with red undertones. It has a matte finish. It's quite opaque and color payoff is really nice. It's texture and feel on my lips is similar that of MAC Russian Red - matte but a little creamy. This is a limited edition shade that's included in the MAC Me Over Collection that was launched last year.

PROS: It's formula is great. It has a matte finish but it's not drying at all. The color is opaque and it's long wearing.
CONS: It's a limited edition shade. A bit dark and intimidating for some people and it's also pricey.

VERDICT

I will definitely repurchase! (if it'll be re-promoted)
