MAC Russian Red - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Russian Red is my go-to red lipstick. It's a matte red lipstick with blue undertones, which makes our teeth look whiter. This is one of my favorite red lipsticks, and I always recommend this to anyone who asks which red lipstick they should go for. It is a matte lipstick, but is far from drying. It's creamy when applied and dries out matte. I also love how opaque it is. This is my everyday red lipstick.

PROS: Kind of red which works for most skin tones, opaque, matte but not drying, long wearing, and a permanent shade
CONS: I really can't think of any but the price, though for me its worth it. :)

VERDICT:

 I will definitely repurchase!

MAC Ruby Woo - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Ruby Woo is a red retro matte lipstick. By retro, I mean it's a pin-up girl red. It's a bright, true red color that can intimidate some. I really love this shade, but I have a problem with its finish. Its the kind of matte that somehow feels like its sucking out all the moisture you have in your lips. Also, its not as opaque as I'd want it to be unless I swipe it 3 or more times. Its a;so advisable to use a lip primer or balm so that it'll glide on better.

PROS: It's a really fun red to wear. Its reminiscent of the red lipstick the pin up girls wore back in the old days. Its long wearing and is part of the permanent line.
CONS: Super drying on your lips, not as opaque as other MAC red lipsticks

VERDICT:

I will repurchase when I don't find something better.

Dr. Skin Hand & Body Whitening Lotion SPF 15 - Review and Photos

Born with fair skin, in a family with fair skin, I think it is only natural for me to be a little more obsessed with maintaining my fairness than most people. I'm sure this will raise some eyebrows, but I am not a fan of tanning. It NEVER looked good on me. Believe me, I've tried it and I will never do it again - not because I think less of people who have darker skin, but because it doesn't suit me.

Although whitening products are like my own kind of crack, I am very careful with what I put on my skin.
I've tried lost of soaps and lotions that may be effective, but also dried out my skin.
I also find those, especially lotions, to have very strong scent which really bothers me.

I recently discovered Dr. Skin Hand & Body Whitening Lotion with SPF 15, a product by Niscenssa, which claims not just to whiten skin but also to prevent premature aging. It's a light lotion that is quickly absorbed by the skin. It's not greasy at all! It has a light fruity scent (melon?) that is not too strong.
I have the 50ml bottle, which is nice so I can tote it around.

I'm not sure how effective it is as a whitening lotion since my aim is to maintain, nor how it prevents wrinkles since I don't have them yet (and hopefully this will happen in a very distant future, LOL), but I always believe that prevention is better than cure. Why not invest in something you know you won't regret in the future?
I also love the fact that it's a locally-made product by a Filipino brand. They understand what works and doesn't work for Filipino consumers because they are also the same. Let us support local quality products! :)

Dr. Skin Hand & Body Whitening Lotion with SPF 15

see how light it is?

in less than 5 seconds, you wont be able to trace it

PROS: lightweight, non-greasy, quickly absorbed by the skin, scent is just right, affordable, and locally available
CONS: the SPF can do some improving, but I understand that if the SPF is increased, the product consistency will be thicker. I really don't mind the scent since it is very light, but if you prefer something that is unscented, this is not for you.

VERDICT:

 I will definitely repurchase!

Feel Like A Star with Goddiva Dresses

Who doesn't want to look and feel like star?

I was a late bloomer when it comes to dresses.
I remember arguing with my grandma, because she wants me to wear a dress for this birthday party I wanted to attend. Being the stubborn and opinionated that I am, I wanted to wear something else.
The ending? I opted to not attend the party than wear something that I didn't like.
(This happened when I was in grade school. LOL).

My point is, I've always been outspoken and loyal with what I want.
Back then, dresses are not my cup of tea because I was athletic.
Can you imagine a girl in a dainty dress playing football with boys? No, I can't.
This went on until I was in college. I only managed to fully embrace being dainty and feminine when I started working. If you haven't noticed, most of my fashion posts are about dresses

I am so crazy about them: casual, formal, printed, plain, long, short, etc.
I even have a closet solely for dresses!
What do I love about them? They are easy to wear and to bring when you travel.
You can dress them up or dress them down, depending on your mood that day.
Now I'm so happy I stumbled upon an online store of dresses that has gorgeous and stylish dresses that girls can rock either you're just hanging out friends, on a date, or full-blast partying!

Goddiva is offers a variety of dresses wherein girls would look and feel like a star.
They have casual maxi dresses to party and evening dresses.
They also have celebrity dresses, which is extremely cool!
Now, we don't have to pay so much to look like those fabulous celebs.

For their Maxi Dresses...

A high-low animal print dress

chain print maxi dress
draped Grecian column panel maxi dress

Nautical Maxi Dress
This nautical maxi dress is my personal pick.
I love the color combination and the fact that I can wear it casually or dress it up.

For party and evening dresses..

Tropical Print Bodycon Dress

sweetheart lace shift dress

optical illusion jungle mini dress

This gold gilded flapper dress is my personal pick.
I love everything that's vintage or vintage inspired!
Its sexy without revealing too much skin.
Plus, you'll be a definite head-turning femme anywhere when you're wearing this!

For celebrity dresses..

This dress inspired by what Kim Kardashian wore on the photo above is my personal pick.
Why I love it? The dress is in one color, which is very flattering because it'll makes us look taller and slimmer. It's sexy, without actually revealing anything. Lastly, it looks expensive.

All in all, I really adore this online shop. They have everything for the fashion-forward fashionistas and those who wants to look and feel like a star. Their prices are pretty reasonable, given the intricacy of the designs.
I also love their celebrity-inspired dresses! It's such a witty idea that I'm sure you girls will enjoy.

Hello, ILOCOS!

My first contribution for the DOT's campaign, It's More Fun In the Philippines. :)

Ilocos is probably one of the few places in the country wherein historical religious sites and beautiful landscapes and places are still well preserved. I am very optimistic that the local government there is capable enough in maintaining the beauty of their province.

Tight bear hugs for Sephy Cabato. :)
