Do you like pale pink lips? Or just plain pale lips? I personally don't. It makes me look like I'm sick, or dead. >__<

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul is a pale pink shade. It reminds me of MAC Viva Glam Gaga I. I personally think this will suit fair-skinned chicas with cool undertones, or maybe at least someone who doesn't have a pigmented lips.

PROS: The formula is great: starts as creamy, then dries out matte. It tastes yummy, too. The packaging is handy and it's affordable.

CONS: The color is not for everybody. If you have pigmented lips (like myself), you might need to pile on 4-5 layers just so it can fully cover your lips.I also think this will suit fair-skinned chicas with cool undertones better.

VERDICT: 3 out of 5 CHILIS! I love the formula, but the shade doesn't suit me at all. My face just looks dull and gray.

Given the chance to go there, I would! In a heartbeat! But due to lack of resources (like most of us are), I guess the next best thing I can devour is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp.

Antwerp is a warm coral shade. I love this shade because it's not intimidatingly bright like your usual orange, yet it's still vibrant enough to lighten up your face.
This shade is perfect for spring/summer: it's girly, youthful, and fresh.

Because the shade is light, girls with pigmented lips (represent, y'all!), we need to apply it generously. I think it took me 3-4 layers so it will completely cover my dark lips.

PROS: The color is adorable and wearable, it's matte, handy, and affordable. The opacity and longevity are decent.

CONS: If you're like me who has pigmented lips, you will need to apply a little more product to get the right opacity.  When it turns totally matte, the lines on your lips will be a bit defined so exfoliate your puckers and always apply a lip balm.

VERDICT: 4 out of 5 CHILIS! This is almost perfect. It's just that my lips are pigmented so I have to apply generously to achieve the opacity that I want.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Merlot, from the name itself, is a wine-grape colored lipstick. I describe it as a pinky red mixed with wine (in short, red wine). It's not as bold as the usual red lipsticks, but it still has that punch of color to make your face look brighter.

When I swatched Merlot for the first time, I remembered MAC Craving (amplified cream).

Though it's not exactly a dupe (because Merlot is definitely brighter than Craving),

they look pretty close to me: like sisters or cousins.

PROS: Formula (matte is love!), opacity, and color pay-off are great. Decent hours of wear for a drugstore lipstick. I also love the fact that it's color is quite close wot MAC Craving. :) Lastly, it's affordable!

CONS: Packaging is a little bulky. With the product itself, I can't complain. :)

VERDICT: 5 out of 5 CHILIS!
