MAC Heroine Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Heroine Lipstick is a bright violet shade with hints of red / magenta. This lipstick is my most favorite from the MAC Fashion Sets 2013. Just like Silly, Embrace Me and Ablaze, this is opaque, in a comfortable matte finish and long wearing.

Originally, this was part of MAC Reel Sexy. I wasn't able to grab one that time so when I heard it'll be repromoted, I knew I had to get one. This is in a matte finish, and just like Strong Woman, I fell in love on the first swipe. It's definitely a color that needs an attitude and fierceness to be worn the right way.

Left to Right:

Heroine, Strong Woman, Smoked Purple, Violetta

PRO: fierce and fabulous color, good color payoff, comfortable matte finish, long wearing

CONS: not the easiest color to wear, pricey, limited edition

VERDICT:

  I will definitely repurchase!

MAC Ablaze Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Ablaze Lipstick is a slightly dark coral-orange (would almost pass as a red, if it weren't for the coral) shade with warm undertones. Its a bright shade, yet its toned down enough to not be considered as neon. Its a very wearable shade and would flatter a lot of skin tones. Its in my favorite comfortable matte finish and quite long wearing.

This was the last shade that I bought from this collection. I was skeptical to get it because I'm through with my "coral and orange phase", but then again I had to get it because it's MAC.

  I will definitely repurchase!

MAC Silly Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Silly lipstick, off MAC Fashion Sets 2013, is a slightly cool toned bright pink. It reminds me of Viva Glam Nicki I, but Nicki is warmer and had yellow undertones while Silly has blue. This is in a comfortable matte finish and is quite long wearing. For reference, Pink Nouveau is much cooler, looks more purple.

This shade really surprised me. I thought it'll wash me out because its a bit light for my usual pinks, but it didn't. The shade is perfect for spring and summer; I can see myself rocking it this season. :)

CONS: limited edition, pricey

VERDICT:

  I will definitely repurchase!

MAC Embrace Me Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Embrace Me lipstick is off MAC Fashion Sets 2013. I believe this is a repromote shade. This is a bright fuchsia pink color with blue undertones in a comfortable matte finish. Its a bright pink, but definitely not neon. Its a very wearable shade, and I think it will suit most skin tones. Its quite long wearing also. It was still beautiful after 4-5 hours, and left a pretty pink stain on my lips after a good lunch.

I didn't think I would love this shade because I have lots of pink lipsticks already. But because this is a more wearable bright pink, this deserves a spot on my favorites.
