MAC Ronnie Red Lipstick - Review, Photos, Swatches

Betty or Veronica? As much as I love being blonde (literally), I know that deep inside, I am Veronica.
MAC Archie's Girls Collection was inspired by these ladies who literally fought over Archie's love (I still don't know why, lol). The collection had 2 parts: Betty and Veronica (ain't that a surprise?).

I personally prefer most lipsticks from Veronica, but because I'm a sucker for any shade of coral, I also love 1 lipstick from Betty's. My sister ordered my most favorite lipstick from the collection, and that's what this review is for. :)

MAC Ronnie Red is a bright pinky red lipstick with blue undertones and in matte finish. As usual, the color payoff is perfect and the opacity is superb. MAC  Ruby Woo is brighter, more pinup red. MAC Russian Red is darker and bluer.

PROS: matte formula but not drying, long wearing, leaves a pretty stain on your lips when it feathers off, a refreshing shade of red, packaging is really cute!

CONS: pricey and a limited edition :(

VERDICT:

  I will definitely repurchase!

Since I work at night and I have a pretty unusual weekend, I almost always just shop online. The convenience of not having to experience traffic and just shop in my PJs at the comefort of my room is very tempting. What I love:They have products that aren't available in malls and local boutiques. I can finally get some of the foreign makeup and beauty products that I see on Youtube or read on blogs easily.They have a lot of payment options, 30 days return and free shipping available.I think they always have items on sale, so us bargain hunters will always have something to look forward to.
What may need some work:I really appreciate the fact that they carry plus size clothing from different brands.I was hoping they'll expand it soon, with more local and young designers that carry edgy clothing for plus-sized women. I find their current gallery a little too safe for me. I also find it odd that the plus size swimwear was modeled by a slim model. I'm not hating here, but how can a plus-sized woman (like me) imagine how it will look like on me if its worn by a slim girl? Doesn't make sense.

Lovers, families, and friends celebrated Valentine’s Day at SM City Batangas, SM City Lipa, SM City Naga, and SM City Lucena being serenaded with their favourite love songs by an orchestra.

The String Colours Ensemble brought beautiful music to shoppers and diners last February 13 and 14 at SM City Batangas and SM City Lipa.

SM City Lucena had High Strings Orchestra play the shopper’s favourite love songs last February 14.

Stradivarius Strings were at SM City Naga last February 14 to entertain shoppers who are celebrating Valentine’s Day at the mall.

People also indulged in dining offers by the fast foods and restaurants at SM City Batangas, SM City Lipa, SM City Naga, and SM City Lucena which were exclusively offered for the Valentine Season.

OCC Lip Tar in Nylon - Review, Photos, Swatches

OCC Lip Tar in Nylon is a really bright pink shade with subtle touches of purple undertones. It's very much similar to MAC Candy Yum Yum in color, but the consistency in formula and finish is quite different. Nylon feels a lot lighter when worn and didn't dry out my lips; I would categorize this as a semi-matte finish. It's pretty long wearing

OCC Lip Tar's formula is the perfect balance of liquid and cream lipstick. Not runny, but not too creamy. It actually reminds me of MAC Select Concealer's formula and packaging. Also, application of this product may need a little practice and patience. Mine came with an OCC mini lip brush, which is quite convenient.

Tips on how to apply this product:

Moisturize / prime your lips

This is a no-brainer. This is my the first step in my makeup routine. This makes your lips a perfect canvas for any kind of lip color.

A little goes a long way

Squeeze a pea-sized amount. Believe me, this will go a long way. I find building it up a lot easier than having to remove excess product which is a heartbreaking waste.

Patience and practice

Applying this product can get a little time consuming since you have to be a little more precise with the application, but really, you can;t hurry perfection up. All you need to do is practice, and soon you'll definitely get the hang of it.

PROS: the shade is a screaming bright hot pink (which I LOVE!), long wearing, it doesn't dry out my lips, a little product goes a long way, comes with a brush
CONS: there's a learning curve in application, pricey, not locally available

VERDICT:

 I will definitely repurchase!

A new season is fast approaching. The weather is getting a little bit warmer, so a wardrobe updating is a must. Because I try to be practical and more sensible when I shop, I choose to buy the season's essentials when there's a sale. Good thing SM City Sta. Mesa is having their 3-Day SALE event this weekend! This is the chance to score my perfect summer essentials at discounted prices! :)

When I go on sale events such as this, I always gravitate into shoes.

As we all know, shoes can get quite expensive, which is understandable. We need durable and stylish shoes to wear everyday, especially when you have to walk a considerable distance when you go to work.

Celine, Payless and Jellybean are just some of the stores in SM City Sta. Mesa that are offering huge discounts on some fabulous shoes you can wear this (or any) season!

Of course, how can not check out SM Department Store?

I'm particularly a fan of SM Parisian Shoes and Bags. I think they have good quality for their price, and they're pretty stylish too. 

SHOPPING TIP:

To get the best bargains, check out the hallways right outside SM Department Store.

They have stalls there that stores items in huge discounts! They have so much discounted items that they had to put them outside. From shoes, bags, luggages to household items, they have it on sale!

MY HAUL: 

If you're a follower of my blog (hopefully you are), you know I love shopping in the SM Girls' Teens Wear Department. Yes, despite my plump physique, I manage to find dresses and tops in this department that fits me. ;) I also found a fab skirt in the SM Ladies Fashion Department. :)

I've been using 2 Majolica Majorca products (Lash & Brow Tint and Automatic Liner) for quite some time now, and I absolutely love them. Since the Department Store is offering discounts, especially on big purchases (P1500 and up, with SMAC), I thought this is the best time to purchase the products that I want from this brand. I bought their face primer (Skin Lingerie Pore Cover), powder blush (Puff De Cheek) and their powder foundation (Skin Remaker Pore Cover).

 I chose this as my Best Bargain Buy because the luxurious and decadent gold casing came in practically FREE. Yes, FREE. This set will usually cost P1500 (the refill and sponge for P1,050 and casing for P450).

Now how much did I have to spend to get this set? A whopping P1,050 only.
