MAC Velvet Teddy - Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Velvet Teddy is a warm nude shade in matte finish. It's my favorite and only nude lipstick because it doesn't wash me out nor make me look like I'm a zombie. It's "my lips but better" lipstick, so its great for very natural-looking makeup or a fierce smoky eye. Its very opaque, creamy when applied and dries out matte. Its the kind of matte that won't dry out your lips. Its a permanent shade, but I believe they don't have it in MAC counters here so I had mine ordered abroad.

PROS: a nude shade that won't wash you out, opaque coverage, long wearing, matte finish but not drying
CONS: MAC Philippines don't carry it, for some reason. Most makeup artists from MAC don't even know this shade exists.

VERDICT:

 I will definitely repurchase!

Do you like pale pink lips? Or just plain pale lips? I personally don't. It makes me look like I'm sick, or dead. >__<

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul is a pale pink shade. It reminds me of MAC Viva Glam Gaga I. I personally think this will suit fair-skinned chicas with cool undertones, or maybe at least someone who doesn't have a pigmented lips.

PROS: The formula is great: starts as creamy, then dries out matte. It tastes yummy, too. The packaging is handy and it's affordable.

CONS: The color is not for everybody. If you have pigmented lips (like myself), you might need to pile on 4-5 layers just so it can fully cover your lips.I also think this will suit fair-skinned chicas with cool undertones better.

VERDICT: 3 out of 5 CHILIS! I love the formula, but the shade doesn't suit me at all. My face just looks dull and gray.
